Jobbeschreibung | Job description: The Frye lab studies the function of RNA modifications in cancer development, metastasis and therapy resistance. You will be part of an exciting and stimulating research environment, working closely with a team of researchers, clinicians and computational analysts. Our project addresses the question how RNA modifications dynamically control transcription and mRNA translation when cancer cells are exposed to a new environment during metastasis or cancer treatment regimens for example. We utilize a wide array of biochemical, cellular, computational and in vivo approaches to identify novel epitranscriptomic key players. A major part will be the integration of nanopore sequencing approaches for full-length transcript analyses and base modification detection. |
Qualifikationen | Requirements:
Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent degree and at least one first author publication. We are looking for highly motivated candidates with a strong background in molecular/cellular biology, stem cell biology, and transgenic mouse models, but even more important is their motivation to learn and adapt to scientific challenges and become a positive member of the lab.The position requires proficiency in spoken and written English. |
